Hey Kate, nice to hear from you. Yes LOTR is nerd-speak for Lord of the Rings. Actually, internet nerds will make an appreviation out of anything if they can. For example, SOAP is short for Snakes on a Plane, which is also internet slang for any f'ed up situation.
